Your host Andrew Martin has joined Bob Sorrentino on his audio and video podcast Italian Roots & Genealogy Podcast, in a new episode out today.

With a slight spoiler, Bob welcomes Andrew to the episode to talk about The Family Histories Podcast, how and why he began it in 2021, a few of the most interesting episodes – including Linda Kvist’s episode of a man living a second life in ‘The Undead’, and Else Churchill’s episode of a DNA surprise in ‘The Unexpected’.

Andrew also talks about how he got hooked on family history, tells the story of how his newly widowed 2x Great Grandmother took her young family to Littleport, Cambridgeshire for a new start, taking work in a new shirt factory called ‘Hope Brothers Ltd‘ that ultimately caused his Great Grandparents to meet. Bob also finds out about Andrew’s 4x Gt Grandfather Simpson Bishop who became a naturalised American citizen at about the age of 70.

Andrew also recounts the brick wall that he gives to guest host Dr Wanda Wyporska in his own episode of The Family Histories Podcast – ‘The Rioter’, and how and why he is desperate to kill off his ancestor Mary Clarke.
